What it means to drive a Honda

I have owned several cars in my lifetime including a Ford Mustang, 2 Corvettes, a Mazda, 2 vans, 2 Ford Explorers, and a Honda Civic and I loved all of them. But the Honda CR-V, purchased 2 days ago, is my favorite by far!
This car is so well equipped! The ride is beautiful, quiet and smooth. Having gotten used to the rather restrictive space in the Civic, I am thrilled with the spaciousness. Everything in this car is so easy to use. I am incredibly pleased with myself for having selected this car.
The service at Charlie's is equally terrific! Although everyone was friendly and helpful, Richard, the salesman, was the greatest help. He was adamant about making sure I knew how to operate everything in this car (and it is loaded with extras). He took me for two road demonstrations and never made me feel as though I was consuming too much of his time. He was patient and actually downloaded my phone contacts to the car's system. And, as I wanted to keep the rubber mats from the Civic, he insisted on washing them for me! There was no heavy pressured sales talks from anyone.
Finally, Lori, the sales manager was just perfect. She explained everything I would need got the insurance change and the new registration.
I love this CR-V and I love Charlie's!
When asked, I told Lori on a basis of 1-10, this experience was a 20!

Being a single professional woman, I can tell you I dreaded having to shop for a new car, let alone trade my old one in and still feel like I hadn't been "taken". I did my homework and test drove multiple vehicles (sometimes twice!) and can honestly say the staff was great. They said the work would take about 3 hours, gave my wife and I a shuttle ride to wherever we wanted to go, and in an hour and a half called me to tell me my car was done and where to send the shuttle to pick us up!

Honesty goes a long way, it's not always about the bottom dollar

I would like to share an experience I had today at Charlie's Honda. I've been bringing my 2006 Acura TSX there for servicing since moving up from the DC area several years ago. Each time I went, I was impressed by the quality of the service and the professionalism of every employee I encountered, not to mention the friendly, welcoming atmosphere. I needed to have the car inspected so I called to make an appointment. I was told that they had appointments available, but if I booked one on Friday, the inspection would be free. (Keep in mind, I did not buy me car there.) I arrived for the appointment, handed over the key and went to the lounge area. After about 15 minutes or so, the service rep came in to tell me that they had discovered a problem with the right front wheel, and could not give me an inspection sticker until it was repaired. They explained that it appeared to be a bearing that needed to be replaced. They did have the part on hand, and it would take about 2 more hours and cost roughly $380. I thought that to be reasonable, and was glad that they found the problem are would be able to fix it. A short time later, the service rep came back to the waiting area and said 'I have some good news! The bearings are fine, it was a nut causing the problem, and our technician has fixed that. Your car is ready, and your cost today will be zero dollars." I am so grateful to have found such an outstanding dealership with people who genuinely care about customer service. Last Saturday we purchased a 2013 Honda Pilot EX-L Certified vehicle from Charlie's Honda. We were met by a young man, Riley, who treated us with the utmost respect and conducted himself professionally the entire time. We were pleased with his overall knowledge and ability to answer our questions, and most importantly, was willing to seek help if there was a question he couldn't answer on the spot - which wasn't often. Once he patiently let us tryout several vehicles, including dealing with my six year old son, he passed us off to Phil and Alex who treated us with the same patience, honesty and professionalism. They were able to meet our budgetary needs, get us into a vehicle that was the right fit for our family, and at no time did my wife or I feel pressured to buy; the same feeling I left with the first time we purchased our CR-V from them three years ago. We reside two miles from Prime Honda in Saco, Maine.

When we began shopping for our new Civic, we assumed we would ultimately purchase from Prime as they are our local dealer.

From the onset of our communications with Charlies Honda, Al Kenney who was our sales representative went above and beyond to assist us with our questions, and we had many.

Al consistently responded to our requests for additional information, even if it was after work hours or on weekends. I will admit that having been in the automobile sales industry myself for 10 years, I was skeptical of the honesty I would receive from dealers. Dealers will generally tell you anything in order to get you into their dealership.

I explained to Al from the onset of our communications that we were shopping several dealers and were looking for the best price. Al provided me with an excellent offer and happily quoted me payments for a 36-month lease which included sales tax, title fee, and documentation fee. He provided a truly transparent lease. No games, no gimmicks.

I am a procrastinator so it took me a few weeks of shopping to ensure I was receiving the best deal. What I eventually confirmed was that not only did Charlies provide me with the best price immediately, the price they offered me was $1049.00 less than my local dealer Prime. It took me 3 weeks of going back and forth with other dealers to realize that Al and Charlies provided me the best offer right up front. My fiance and I picked up her new Civic this Saturday.

We would like the Shuman family to know how much of an asset Al Kenney is to your dealership. Al went above and beyond and then some to earn our business. Thanks again Al for your unending patience with us. We also want to acknowledge Bronson Swazey for explaining all the features of the new car to Anna. Thank you also to business manger Lori Kenney for her professionalism, friendliness, and sense of humor while assisting with all the paperwork.

We had an extremely pleasant experience with Charlies Honda. We will both recommend your dealership to everyone we come in contact with who may be in the market for a new car. Pleasant Experience

Had a very pleasant experience at Charlie's Honda. I had called around to 4 different Honda dealerships in southern Maine and out of the four they were the most friendly and not pushy (can't say the same about some of the others). On top of that, they offered the best price! I did technically get a better quote on the car from somewhere else but their documentation fee is much cheaper at Charlie's which made it the cheapest choice.The only thing is that they claimed that another place had some hidden fee which turned out to be false but that was probably based on prior knowledge. I would recommend talking to David Palumbos!

2012 Honda CR-V

On 12/13/14 I drove to Augusta to look at Honda and Subaru vehicles. I had inquired via email and knew about cars on the lot. I did not want a new vehicle but wanted low mileage. Bronson Swazey helped me to test drive a 2011 Subaru and a 2012 Honda CRV, which I ended up buying. He could not have been more helpful.  Josh handled the financing with no problems. I was trading a VW Jetta wagon.  Bronson helped with the transfer, and showed me how to use all the features in the 2012 Honda, (with low mileage 28,000).  There were so many! I bought the warranty as well which covers the vehicle to 100,000 miles.

I was impressed today, when meeting Bud Sergent, in the service department; my '07 Sedan received removal and replacement of the water pump pulley and bolts per a recall situation.

Mr. Sergent's easy, polite and professional manner reflects well on Charlie's Honda. On a scale of one to ten, ten being tops, Bud gets a 9! Only perfect people get a 10; and happily, God didn't create any of those.

You have no idea what a relief that was. The whole process was very laid back and friendly. We didn't feel pressured or taken advantage of at all. In fact, the friendly family like atmosphere of your dealership reminded me a lot of our old dealership. We love the CR-V, and have been raving about how much we love Charlie's to everyone we talk to. In fact, my cousin is on her way up there tomorrow to look at buying her own CR-V. Thank you so much. I just wanted to thank Donny, Josh, and all of you at Charlie's Honda for working with us last weekend. We are very happy with our Honda Pilot! We really appreciate the honesty, information, and customer service that everyone provided us.  We choose to go to Charlie's instead of our local dealership because of the customer service provided by Donny prior to him even meeting us!

As an example, our local dealership wanted us to make a refundable down payment over the phone in order to save a Honda Pilot for us to test drive the next day, when they had 13 EXLs on site.  I had never heard of such a strange - pushy request and that was the last straw for us.  We drove down to Augusta and everything was ready for us, even though we had never requested it.  In less than 3 hours we drove away with our new Pilot very pleased! Our local dealership? - well they still have all 13 EXLs for sale.

I've told everyone I've talked to about how great Charlie's Honda is an I hope that they all make the trip to Augusta when it comes time for them to get a new vehicle.  I know that when we are ready for a new vehicle we will make the trip again.

My husband, our Great Dane (the reason for the need of an SUV), and I thank the entire team at Charlie's Honda.  We look forward to working with you again in the future.

2012 Honda Odyssey

We had a pleasant time buying the car at Charlie's Honda. The car is wonderful and the experience of buying the car was wonderful too.

We are very happy we made the trip up to Augusta to purchase the car from Charlie's. Elissa was very helpful to us in helping us with the purchase and the trade-in, and so was the rest of the staff at the dealership. we enjoyed eating the popcorn and drinking the coffee while we navigated through the paperwork. Our children love the new Odyssey minivan, and it feels safe to drive them in the new family vehicle. Thank you!
